I got the bug to start playing lots of TF2 again and noticed that there is now unlockable gear for some classes. I had no clue about them so I Googled for info and this page of fake acheivements on Something Awful came up near the top of the list. I haven’t read a Photoshop Phriday in a long time but this was damn hilarious.
Archive for the “Games” CategoryI found this Flash-based lite RPG/combat game through my favorite geek clothing vendor J!nx today and it’s quite fun considering the small amount of effort needed. Try out Talesworth Arena and you might like it. Using that link will add my user as a friend on Kongregate (the host site) but MrJinx is the account for the game’s creator.
I have found that the Battle College site has some great information for Warmachine players. Lots of reviews of units as well as faction tactics (including specific counters against other factions). Oh yeah, it has Hordes info too which is nice because probably close to half of my games have been against Hordes armies so far. While I was at GameInk I had to laugh when I came across this one:
Even though I haven’t played D&D in about 20 years I really liked this shirt at GameInk:
Is tracking your cash loot on paper just too boring for your RPG sessions? Then you can drop $70 on a set of copper, silver, gold & platinum gaming coins at Campaign Coins. You can buy smaller packs by metal & denomination (1, 10, 100, 1000) but to run a campaign I’m sure you’ll need a full set.
My other LoTRO toon is Doppelwulf, a human (from Dale) Lore Master (think wizard/magic user) who is currently at level 20.
My level 38 Mirkwood Elf Guardian in LoTRO just got a cool helmet called Balanthol so now he looks like a medieval Jason or something. It’s too bad that the logo comes down so far, it covers up some of the horns on the helmet. After many months someone actually pointed out to me that his name ends in “rod” and the kinship that I joined (because all my friends belonged to it) is named The Package. How I missed that one I’ll never know.
I finally finished all the little delivery quests of taking a horse from the stable master and delivering to three different stables all across the map, then finished his little race around the property in under two minutes. All of that for the privilege of earning my riding skill and paying 4 gold pieces for a horse. It was sure worth it though, I can’t believe how fast I can get across the maps now. The only downside is that I collect less ore and wood on the way since I have to dismount to do that. I’m now walking around the northern Bree-lands grinding for medium hides so that I can master my Journeyman Tailor crafting skill. |
