Other Metallics
The next step was to paint the other metallic colors. I used Vallejo Glorious Gold on the Repenter since he’s turned out to be my experimental ‘jack. I am trying out contrasting colors (you can see the white & off-white shoulders on him, not sure what I’m going to move forward with though) and I already know that someday I will dunk him in Simple Green to strip him back to bare metal, use putty to fill a gap on his left shoulder joint and start all over. The very patchy white shoulders really do need to be redone but I want to finish my other models before I go back and redo anything on this guy.
Anyway, below you can see the gold on the smoke stack, flail, flamethrower and hip area. I also used the tin/gunmetal mix on the pipers of the flamethrower and you can see it on the back side in the second picture. Side note: I still haven’t figured out why the Protectorate warjacks have loincloths, must be due to the extremely conservative religious views taken to the extreme.
