This is such a great concept for a shirt, I love it!

I can’t decide which one I want more from Think Geek, the my first bacon doll or the juicy canned unicorn meat.
Boy do I love the view from my desk. I have about 18 inches of window that looks right out to the outbound flight path from MCAS Miramar. I’ve had this view for a few years and it’s mostly F-18 Hornet fighter-bombers and some transport helicopters until recently. Less than a month ago the first two V-22 Osprey aircraft tranferred to the base in preparation for the whole squadron to arrive in October (or at least that’s what I was told by a fellow commuter on the train who flies helos).
It is really cool to hear the thrum of rotors and look up to see a pair of these babies headed out on a training flight.
Wow, has it really been six weeks or more since my last post? In all fairness I had a DNS problem that I stupidly didn’t detect so the site was effectively offline for the past three of those weeks due to technical difficulties. Now that it’s back up I really need to get some pics of my Warmachine and Hordes builds going.
How can anyone live without the The Poking Man Pen Stand? I swear this must have been invented by the same guy that came up with the humping dog USB drive. Please, whatever you do don’t click on the video at work.
Actually drink all the Kool-Aid you want, just don’t go around spouting the “Drink the Kool-Aid” cliche that’s so popular right now. Also please don’t say anything about “peeling back the layers of the onion”, I am so sick of that phrase right now you wouldn’t believe it.
Thanks to John Cleese’s Cheese Podcast site for this one. Check out xmasresistance for more (or their Facebook page).
That’s more like it, DOCSIS 2.0 is good:
The test says “Warning: ISP upload compression was detected. Your upload speeds may be inaccurate.” but I don’t know how the test is effective.
***Edit***
Looks like that test image isn’t available direct anymore, I should have made a local copy (which is what I usually do).
Well that was really odd: after replacing my cable modem (who knew that a DOCSIS 1.0 modem would be deprecated and suffer degraded performance?) I ran a few speed tests at DSL Reports and the third one (to Ontario) came back with this:
I knew something was up when the needle on the meter started going below zero but I thought it was just a problem with the display in the Flash applet. Of course the tech told me that I should see higher speeds with the new DOCSIS 2.0 modem but so far it’s actually a bit slower (but I only have a small sample size so far).
This one is for my friend Shack who will someday have his own monkey.
Should we be thanking him for keeping outbreak over there on such a heavy-duty chain, or should we call someone to come and do something? I feel the latter is more appropriate.

I saw that on an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia (about my favorite comedy show right now) and laughed my ass off, it’s the DICK TOWEL. That’s right, they actually created a web site for a gag from the show, including a Yahoo shop so that you can apparently actually buy them.
Today is the 40th anniversary of the first episode of Sesame Street, it was nice of Google to notice.
Wow, the people that Wal-Mart brings out of the woodwork is just amazing. If you deign to shop at Wal-Mart then be sure to take along your camera next time you go.
Someone sent me a the link below to a cool interactive time-lapse photograph of the Hong Kong skyline. If you hover your cursor over the top of the image it shows the time at 6:10 (presumably PM). As you move your cursor down the image the time advances as does the picture until it’s 90 minutes later and now dark at 7:10PM with the cursor at the bottom.
I think that this is a great use of Flash, very creative.
